Bill Attwood died this afternoon.
Bill collapsed with pneumonia nearly 2 weeks ago and has been in the intensive care unit at Northallerton hospital since then.
Bill , a member of Morecambe Bay PC, was a founder member of
Northern in 1998 and was the Development Officer for the West of the Region for
4 of the next 5 years. He was a regular player at Northern tournaments and was a
member of the Northern Region squad several times including as recently as Brean
this year when he played as a fourth player for Northern 2.
Despite having a lung removed several years ago due to lung cancer and at that
time being given only a few months to live Bill continued to play and to be very
sociable and will be sadly missed.

The Northern squad at the Inter Regional Championships emphatically
confirmed Northern's rise by finishing 4th in Division 1.
The aim had been to make 6th place in order to avoid relegation
back to Division 2 so 4th was a major success.
We were even level on number of wins with 3rd place but had a worse points
difference.
In 2003 when we were in division 1 for the first time we were demoted with 38
wins from 108 games. This time we won 57 from 108.
A link to the full results is available on the results page.
